Have a nice trip and I would be glad to see some photos from the meeting
The idea appeared during the come back from the meeting in France, where Polish club www.renault25.org represented our country in the event, which was dedicated to 25th Anniversary of the start of production of model R25. Several times going by motorway A6 we were thinking: what is located behind this huge fence, which separates the road from these huge machines, which tower majestic over the museum.
We decided that we would go there someday in a bigger group of people. After finding accommodation near the museum we managed to do it. On Friday 25th September twelve clubmen and clubwomen started our journey from Milanowek, Lodz, Zielona Gora, Koszalin. At 12.00 we met in the prearranged place near Berlin at the motorway, then we continued our adventure in three cars going through motorway A9 to the South.
All people were in very good mood, which is effective in many coffee-brakes, tea-brakes, talks and the time was running away.
After passing by Norymberga we went to motorway A6, which took us to Mannheim, where we stopped for an hour in a traffic jam.
Hotel Etap, where we booked our rooms, appeared to be very cosy and comfortable, situated out of the way of the city. It was hard to go to sleep after very interesting day, even common travelling was enormous pleasure. Nevertheless at 1.00 at night all people were finally sleeping, because the next day the museum was waiting for us. 26th September, wake up on time, common breakfast and whole crew was ready for leaving. 35km to museum was very comfortable, because we saw the sun and it portended good weather. It was so hot that we couldn’t believe that it’s the end of September. At the door of museum we waited for the two clubmen of French Club of Renault25, who came from that country.
The museum is located in two big halls, where there are cars, tanks, planes, motorcycles, road machines, locomotives and other, which is hard to remember all.
Visiting in the first hall we finished at 1.30 pm and went to museum restaurant for dinner.
Then the group photo was taken and we went to the hall nr 2.
Here the aristocratic motorization is located. Rolls, Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mercedes, and many Maybachs and some less known brands. Going to the upper level by stairs to the roof we found some models of planes like Concorde or Tu 144, which seemed to be hanged in the time and space. All models are opened for visiting inside.
We could visit seven model of planes. It is interesting that from two of them you can slide on the big slide to the ground floor. It was great fun for small and big children. Our ladies tested flight simulators, simulators of motorcycle and spaceship simulators.
Very tired but happy we reached the hotel an hour before sunset and we celebrated very good day by common supper and fun. The next day, 27th September at 7.30 our column start come back journey to Poland.
Again our travel was very pleasant and cb radio was used many times for talks about our plans for the next travels and meetings, for which I invite all of you, but you will be informed about the details.
